2) Why aren't there any new photos in the photo gallery? If you have any photos that you would like to share with everyone, please email them to webmaster@samathletics.org
3) Can I attend an association meeting? When and where do they meet? Association meetings are usually held the third Tuesday of every month in either the lunchroom or the gym at 7:30 pm. Everyone is invited. Check the Future Events page for the latest information.
4) I've heard North County CYC gives out scholarships to some athletes. How does that work? Each year the North County CYC Athletic Association sponsors the Robert Schaller - Ed Kerstin Scholarship to be awarded to several young female and male athletes. Every year, a letter is sent to all 8th grade students and, after completing an application, SAMAA nominates 2 female and 2 male athletes. The four finalists are notified by phone and they are then asked to submit letters of recommendations.
5) What are the eligibility requirements for the North County CYC Athletic Association Scholarship? These were the eligibility requirements for the 2003 process: a) You are currently an eight grade student. b) You have participated in good standing in the NCCYCAA sports program for at least three years, including the current year. (Exception to the current year requirement is for medical reasons only). c) You must submit a letter of recommendation from your current school teacher or principal. d) You must be nominated by your Parish Athletic Committee. e) A letter of recommendation from the parish pastor or religious leader must accompany your application to NCCYCAA.
6) Does the SAM athletic association give out scholarships? Yes. The athletic association gave out three $250.00 scholarships last year.
7) Where can I get a copy of the SAMAA constitution and by-laws? Click here to view the SAMAA constitution and by-laws.
8) What is the concession stand work policy? Due to repeated problems with the concession workers not showing up for their assignments, a new policy was implemented beginning with the 2002 basketball season. A deposit of $50 (post dated check preferred) is required at signups. The check (deposit) is cashed by the athletic association. After successfully completing a 3-hour work assignment, the athletic association will mail you back a new check for $50. We regret having to do this but repeated no-shows forced us to implement this policy. It is not our intention to raise funds with this new policy, but to punish those few individuals who shun their duties. We felt that letting this abuse continue was unfair to the vast majority of people who cheerfully complete their required assignments time after time. As a further extension of the new policy, we maintain a list of people who are willing to work additional shifts (potentially on short notice) for monetary compensation. This not only allows us to maintain a properly staffed concession stand, but also helps some of our parishioners who may be in need of extra income. If you are interested in having your name on this list or want additional information, please contact the concession stand manager or one of our concession worker coordinators.
9) Where are the St Angela Merici parish boundaries?

5) Why do we have player evaluations?
